Founded by the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the Advancement Centre for Autism (ADCA) is committed to elevating the standard of comprehensive support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their communities. Through rigorous professional education and strategic community outreach, we endeavor to advance public understanding of neurodiversity, reshape societal perspectives, and foster a highly inclusive and empathetic environment across Hong Kong.

Navigating the complexities of neurodiversity requires more than just a map—it requires a foundation. At the Advancement Centre for Autism (ADCA), we believe that true progress happens only when it is built on solid ground.
We chose the name ADCA because an anchor provides the fixed point of certainty that allows for safe exploration and growth. We serve as the Anchor Institution for the entire autism ecosystem.

ASD is a complex, lifelong neurodevelopmental condition characterized by diverse traits and multifaceted clinical needs. It is frequently accompanied by significant comorbidities, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and functional gastrointestinal manifestations. In response to these complex challenges, pioneering research conducted by the CUHK Faculty of Medicine on the gut microbiome has introduced innovative methodologies for risk prediction, offering a highly valuable scientific framework for early detection.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between clinical discovery and daily life. We don't just provide direct care for families; we equip the field. By 'training the trainers' and empowering a new generation of professionals with our evidence-based methodology, we are ensuring that high-standard advocacy and care are accessible everywhere.

For parents, we are a safe harbor. For professionals, we are a centre of excellence. At ADCA, we are building the infrastructure of inclusion so that every child, and every educator, can move forward with confidence.
