bridging conventional clinical approach


to microbiome-based risk prediction/care
i) Deep-dive approach to the complex mind states and behaviours of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) along the developmental trajectory structured in a balanced landscape of the clinical diagnostic framework and neurodiversity, using ample materials from historical, experimental, data-driven and case studies;
ii) An accessible approach to navigate through autism-related brain science and practical applications of novel gut microbiome-based care, state-of-the-art and futuristic prospects;
iii) Practical and experiential skill laboratory on early child intervention and parenting support with reference to the local context, delivered through interactive and case-based analyses and holistic evidence-based solutions guided by clinical experts;
iv) Experiential starter session on mindfulness-based parenting skill set and app-based training tool tailored for autism scenarios guided by advance practice mindfulness specialist;
v) Community and systemic approach to examine scenarios of neurodiversity, inclusivity and universal design for sustainable autism support.
Expected Learning Outcomes



i) Consolidate cross-disciplinary foundational and applicational knowledge on the multi-faceted life-long journey of autism community, and based on such foundation our graduates will be inspired and empowered to continue life-long learning in a scientifically-informed and value-driven manner.

ii) Foster openness, critical thinking and empathy that will translate to empowerment to articulate and advocate for the needs of the autism community across settings (school, healthcare system, workplace and policy lobbying).

iii) Attain competency to apply or suggest clinically appropriate screening tools (symptom-based and microbiome-based) on children with suspected ASD, render supportive and informative counselling to parents on the subsequent pathways to care.
