ADCA is honoured to have been invited to participate in The WAAD 2026 Plenary Event, held in Hong Kong on 2 April 2026 in observance of World Autism Awareness Day. The event aims to deepen public awareness and understanding of autism. It also highlighted the need for more supportive policies in Hong Kong, aligning with the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen services for autistic children and their families.

Professor Sandra Chan, Professor (Clinical), Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, attended the event as the Centre Director of the Advancement Centre for Autism and delivered one of the keynote speeches. It was a truly valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with like‑minded parents and professionals across the sector.

Many thanks to the Hong Kong Autism Institute, the event organizer, for the invitation. The event enabled ADCA to connect with diverse range of stakeholders, share experiences, and collaborate on ways to foster a broader understanding of and support for the autism community.
